I was born in Moscow. After studying at Babson College (BA — Business & Administration, Marketing & Communications) in Boston, I returned to Russia to work in marketing. I eventually started a video production business, working with brands such as Starbucks Russia, Dunkin Donuts, PepsiCo, Heineken, and some well-known (and not-so-much) startups and set up Moscow's very own
Startup Grind chapter.
Currently, my
Medium blog has over 10,000 loyal readers and 400,000+ views, and I was
featured in The Guardian, Al Jazeera, ABC News, Inc. Russia, Meduza, as well as local UK and Russian publications. Since the war in Ukraine broke out, I mainly covered the crisis. I currently live in London.
In 2019, after completing an
apprenticeship program under Tim Draper, a famous Silicon Valley VC investor, I moved to London to work as Head of Content in early-stage startups building their brand publications, producing podcasts, and creating media products from scratch.
At
Sellerscale, an early-stage financial services company, I spearheaded the entire content marketing stream, setting up the blog and hosting its podcast (Sellerscale show), and interviewing big names in the Amazon FBA space (e.g., Payoneer, Empire Flippers, Kevin David). At
Silverbird, a UK-based fintech company, I built a
niche publication about international trade for 20,000 monthly readers from scratch and produced a
narrative podcast about the global economy.
I hate the word "content marketing" (I believe there’s no such thing — there’s either
content or
marketing). What people refer to as "content marketing", I call
brand publishing. The future of media is niche and product-driven.
I am always looking for exciting startups where I can bring my passion for media and journalism to build media products within the company.
